Meadow Braun is a typical black, Puerto Rican, Jamaican, Russian Jew from upstate New York. She grew up as an only child with her Jewish mother, an artist, and her adoptive father, a poet. After successfully navigating high school without visible damage, Meadow attended NYU where she studied Art History, Psychology and Africana Studies, going on to become a divorced graphic designer.
Through this blog, Meadow attempts to expose the irony around the concept of race and the complexity of group identity using analysis and stories from her own experience.
Meadow has participated in writing classes and workshops in New York and Hawaii and published a short humor essay in the New York Press. In addition to posting here, Meadow is working on a full length memoir. Feel free to contact her at newmeadow@gmail.com.

I agree with Nell, although I still want to spend a lot of money on therapy, cause my therapist is as good as your writing!

If you’re interested in hearing about the 80′s-’90s small press experience from my point of view, I’ve been putting a blog together on http://hollydayonwriting.blogspot.com/–I know, shameless promotion, but I thought you might find it funny.

I love your blog. I have been asked “what are you” since I was a child, and had no idea what was being inferred. Great job!
